What’s the difference between warm colored hair and brassy hair?
Most of the time, when a color client sits in the chair, the first words out of their mouth are “I don’t want to see red.” In a lot of cases, this statement is incorrect. They don’t want to see brass, but do want warm colored hair.
Brassy hair is due to underlying pigment being exposed. Brass is not a color. It is what happens when the hair is not processed long enough during a lifting service. There is a big difference between this kind of “red” and a purposeful, beautiful, shiny copper/ gold color.
Warm hair is beautiful! It reflects light, making the hair appear very healthy and shiny. More often than not, warm hair is the right choice for peoples skin tones. Copper/ gold hues make the skin look healthy and glowy. There is a wide range of colors, light/dark, dimensional/ solid, etc, that support warmth and work for each individual.
